How best to help yourself and your student over the next few weeks ๐Ÿ˜ณ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ“

I cannot believe itโ€™s May which means itโ€™s the end of the school year. For many students, itโ€™s their final month of high school ๐Ÿ™ˆ

Iโ€™ve worked in situations where Iโ€™ve felt as if I was in a pressure cooker. That overwhelm felt by students and teachers alike is not conducive for growth in any way shape or form!

For many students, theyโ€™re in their final lap – the very last final weeks. Changes are about to happen and many kids feel dysregulated. There are LOTS of emotions. Many of them are VERY overwhelmed with the excitement and stress of graduation ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐ŸŽ“ Exam anxiety is beginning to rear her ugly headโ€ฆ we need to help them find calm while maintaining our own sanity.

We can help our students. We can practice grounding and mindfulness and can model how to develop a PLAN to attack exams.

Encourage your kid to lay โ€œeverything on the tableโ€ and then consider how best to make time to complete everything. Consider all commitments, assignments, ILPs, summative tasks etc. Once you list every task, you can break down how to attack it.

Donโ€™t let procrastination prevent the student from achieving.
